I am a faculty member in the Department of Botany, having joined the institute in 2014. My academic background and research expertise encompass the disciplines of mycology and plant physiology, with a strong emphasis on understanding fungal diversity and plant–microbe interactions. I was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) for my research on fungal endophytes, wherein I investigated their diversity, ecology, and functional significance within host plants. My doctoral work contributed to advancing knowledge on the diversity of fungal endophytes, role of endophytic fungi and their antimicrobial activity. My current research interests include fungal ecology, endophyte–host interactions, and physiological responses of plants to microbial associations. I employ both classical and contemporary approaches in mycological and plant physiological research, and I am particularly interested in the application of fungal resources for improving crop productivity and resilience. In addition to research, I am actively engaged in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, curriculum development, and academic mentoring. I supervise student research projects and contribute to departmental and institutional academic activities. Through my teaching and research, I aim to foster scientific inquiry and promote an integrative understanding of plant and fungal sciences.
