Programme Details
The Dept of Biochemistry has designed the syllabus of the course keeping in mind the subject, the job potential and the future of the students who graduate in the subject. The Dept of Microbiology intends to inculcate in the students the interest to explore the world of Microbiology and contribute to the rapidly expanding field. The Faculty of Zoology unites the disciplines of General Zoology, Cell Biology and Genetics, Human Anatomy- Physiology, Developmental Biology, Ecology, Ethology and Evolutionary Biology.
Admission & Selection Process
Admission Process : The applicants must fill in complete information on the online application form and upload all required certificates (whatever is available) and photos.
Selection Process : The shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview. There are two rounds in the interview. Once the final interview is over, candidates have to pay their programme fee within 3 days, and the mode of payment must be online. The dates of the interview will be communicated to the shortlisted candidates and will be announced on the website.
Eligibility
- A candidate should have passed the Examination conducted by the Pre-University Board, Karnataka, or any other examination considered equivalent and should have studied Chemistry and Biology as core subjects.
- Students of undergraduate programmes must study two languages, out of which one shall be English and the other shall be either an Indian language or a foreign language other than English.
- The University offers the following language courses: Introductory Kannada, Introductory French, Introductory Spanish, Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Sanskrit, French, Additional English and German.
- TCBSE and ISC students and others who have not studied a second language at the plus two level are encouraged to opt for Introductory Kannada, Introductory French, Introductory Spanish or German. These are taught from the introductory level and require no prior acquaintance. Only those students who have not learnt these languages either in school or class XI or XII are eligible to enroll for these introductory level courses as second language.
- Students need PUC/XII level competence to study Sanskrit, Kannada, Tamil, Hindi and French courses.
- Additional English is meant for students who have serious problems learning other languages.

- Students opting For Kannada/Hindi/Tamil will not be charged any additional fee
Note:
- Please note: if admitted, the fee must be paid in full within the time prescribed in the Admit Intimation.
- To claim the Karnataka category fee, the candidates should have studied the last 7 years in Karnataka.[Not applicable for OCI (Overseas Citizens of India), PIO (Person of Indian Origin), and Foreign Nationals].
NRI fee is applicable for the full duration of the Programme for candidates who:
- Have pursued and completed their last qualifying exam from outside India.
- NRI and candidates who have applied under the NRI category.
The Management / University does not collect any type of Capitation fees / Donation other than the fees mentioned above.

Programme Scope
This programme examines life from microbes to animals through biochemical, physiological, and ecological perspectives.
Students are trained to:
- Pursue postgraduate degrees in microbiology, biochemistry, zoology, immunology, and parasitology.
- Perform microbial culture, biochemical assays, immunological tests, and animal biology experiments.
- Analyse host-pathogen interactions and animal physiology.
- Work in diagnostics, clinical microbiology, biotech labs, QC labs, and environmental monitoring.
- Appear for JAM, GATE, CSIR-NET, DBT-BET, ICMR.
- Address biological problems through a multi-level lens.

Documents Required
Selected candidates must first update the following documents on their admission portal before the interview. The admitted students must submit the original documents at the Admin Office:
- Class 10th Certificate (High School) and Marks Card
- Class 11th Certificate and Marks Card
- Class 12th Certificate (Senior Secondary School) and Marks Card
- Transfer Certificate from last qualified institution
- Migration Certificate except for the Karnataka State Board applicants
- Two passport-size photographs and one stamp-size photograph in formal dress with a white background
- Two Photocopies of the Online Payment Receipt
- Valid ID proof such as Aadhaar Card / PAN Card / Voter ID Card
Candidates belonging to any of these categories -PIO / OCI / SAARC / FOREIGN NATIONALS-must submit the following documents:
- Photocopy of Passport and Visa Details
- Copy of PIO / OCI card (whichever is applicable and available at the time of admission)
- Certificate of Medical Fitness from an approved medical practitioner accredited by the Medical Council of India
- Resident Permit (If available)
Important Dates
The admissions will be done weekly for the following courses starting rom 14th March 2024. The last date to apply is Thursday of that week. Shortlisted candidates will be candidates will be informed by email on Tuesday of the following week
