As an educational institution, St Joseph’s University, Bangalore is deeply passionate about understanding and strengthening cultural inclusivity and diversity. To promote the same, under the banner of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat initiative, the university has and continues to organise a multitude of programmes that intend to teach and foster the cultures and traditions of various states and UTs of the country. This is ensured through an array of interactive events conducted by the university associations and clubs like Kannada Sangha, Tamil Sangham, NETSF (Northeast and Tibetan Forum) and similar cultural clubs, where culture is represented and acknowledged in terms of markers like language, history, art, clothing and food. This ultimately renders a space for the appreciation and celebration of the nation for its diverse groups of peoples and their cultures, thus, reinforcing the existing bond between regions that materialise the notion of unity in diversity.
