Aloysius Sequeira hails from Mangalore and completed his early education at St. Aloysius College. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Power, a Master of Technology in Industrial Management from the esteemed Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, and a Ph.D. from Mysore University. Additionally, he obtained a Diploma in Training & Development from the Indian Society for Training & Development (ISTD).

With over 41 years of professional experience in teaching, research, and administration, Dr. Sequeira has made significant contributions to NITK. Throughout his four-decade career there, he has held various positions, including Director of NITK-STEP, Registrar, Head of Department, and Dean of Faculty Welfare at NITK Surathkal.

He has published 78 papers in reputable, indexed research journals, supervised 13 research scholars in their pursuit of a Ph.D., and successfully completed three sponsored research projects funded by the Government of India. Dr. Sequeira also serves as an associate editor for a reputed journal and reviewer for six distinguished research journals.

He received sponsorship to undergo training in Educational Technology at the University of Huddersfield in England and has visited several prestigious universities in the U.K., Germany, Switzerland, Singapore, and the USA for various official assignments.

Dr. Sequeira is an active member of several university bodies, including the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), University Grants Commission (UGC), National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), among others.

He has been recognized with five different awards for his service and excellence, including the Distinguished Alumni Award from M.I.T. Manipal. Dr. Sequeira retired in May 2022 as a Professor (Higher Administrative Grade) from the School of Management at NITK Surathkal.
