LT. Akshay D Mandlik, the ANO (Associate NCC Officer) of 1 KAR ARMD SQN NCC TP-3 is a third-generation Indian armoured force family and an alumnus who took charge of the Squadron in 2015. A Silver medalist and Parade Commander for the OTA (Officers Training Academy) passing out batch. Lt. Akshay D.M has also bagged the gold medal at weapon training, physicals, drill in OTA Kamptee. The first ANO to complete a basic Scuba Diving Course and a para glider course from NIMAS, and basic mountaineering course and skiing course bagging the silver medal in the course at JIMS Kashmir. He is the recipient of the DDG commendation card and prestigious Director General Commendation Card. The officer has provided the best there is to cadets both in performance and excellence. He is also a recipient of DG commendation award, Raksha Mantri Padak Award and Defence Secretary commendation award.
In its history are records of cadets who were selected fot the prestigious All India G.V Mavalankar Shooting Championship, All India Thal Sainik Camp (AITSC), Republic Day Camp (RDC) and Youth Exchange Programme (YEP).

Holding the motto of “UNITY AND DISPLINE” and working hard, many cadets have brought glory to the squadron. The Squadron to its credentials has 6 CM Commendation, 8 DDG Commendation and 4 DG commendation till date. CSUO Narasimha Murthy has won silver
medal in the ‘G.V. Mavalankar shooting camp’ and CPL Mandeep Singh has won gold medal in IGC level shooting. And apart from this, 3 cadets along with the ANO have made the squadron proud by creating a history by being the first Squadron to get Alpha grading at advance Scuba Diving Course organized by NIMAS under the Ministry of Defence (MoD) held at Meghalaya. SGT Longjam Maleshwori Chanu was selected for the Ek Bharat Shrest Bharat camp. This year also observed JUO Vishal Rao marching for Karnataka and Goa Directorate at Kartavya Path during Republic Day 2023.
Standing at the forefront during the covid pandemic the cadets took charge of volunteering in the CCC center set Up at St. Joseph’s university. Seven cadets along with the ANO volunteered to facilitate distribution of Ration Kits to the migrants and students on behalf of NCC.
For their determination and adherence to the values of NCC or for spearheading themselves ahead, some of the cadets were awarded commendations this year. The list is as follows:
