Weekend(Saturday ) - on campus - 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM

About the Programme

With the rapid adoption of digital technologies for every aspect of our life, more and more sensitive information is now getting exposed to the internet.

Data security has taken centre stage and has become the most important area. This has given rise to the tremendous demand for qualified data security professionals from business, government, healthcare, educational, and various other industries.
However, at present, the supply is far below the demand and needs immediate focus. The Department introduced a PG Diploma programme in Cyber Security in the academic year 2020. This is expected to help the cause by improving the supply.

Admission process: The applicants must fill in complete information on the online application form and upload all required certificates (whatever is available) and photos.

Selection process: The shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview. There are two rounds in the interview. Once the final interview is over, candidates have to pay their programme fee within 7 days and the mode of payment must be online. The dates of the interview will be communicated to the shortlisted candidates and will be announced on the website

Eligibility for joining the PG Diploma in Cyber Security programme: Graduates from any discipline are eligible to apply.

The syllabus for Postgraduate Diploma in Cyber Security is as follows:

Note: For all the students of PG Diploma programmes of the Department of Advanced Computing, the fees are to be paid in two installments.

Programme Objectives

  • To understand the security challenges as well as the best practices that are essential to protect one from becoming the victim of cybercrimes
  • To be aware of secure online operations and safe handling of devices

Programme Outcomes

Students will be industry-ready with the following knowledge:

  •  Knowledge on Cyber Security concepts and tools
  •  Engineering aspects of securing data
  •  Skills for application of Cyber Security in functional areas
  •  Knowledge of ethical hacking concepts

Selected candidates must first update the following documents on their admission portal before the interview. The admitted students must submit the original documents at the Admin Office:

  • Class 10th Certificate (High School) and Marks Card
  • Class 11th Certificate and Marks Card
  • Class 12th Certificate (Senior Secondary School) and Marks Card
  • Undergraduate Marks Cards and Convocation Certificate
  • Transfer Certificate from last qualified Institution
  • Migration Certificate if the candidate is outside Karnataka state
  • Two passport-size photographs and one stamp-size photograph in formal dress with a white background
  • Two Photocopies of the Online Payment Receipt
  • Valid ID proof such as Aadhaar Card / PAN Card / Voter ID Card
  • Letter of Undertaking.pdf
  • Candidates belonging to any of these categories -PIO / OCI / SAARC / FOREIGN NATIONALS-must submit the following documents:

  • Photocopy of Passport and Visa Details
  • Copy of PIO / OCI card (whichever is applicable and available at the time of admission)
  • Certificate of Medical Fitness from an approved medical practitioner accredited by the Medical Council of India
  • Resident Permit (If available)
