The programme combines the concepts of biology and chemistry to understand living things and their relationship with the ecosystem. The programme covers the study of microorganisms and their effect on human life covering different aspects of the programme including biostatistics, immunology, virology etc.
Selected candidates must first update the following documents on their admission portal before the interview. The admitted students must submit the original documents at the Admin Office:
Class 10th Certificate (High School) and Marks Card
Class 11th Certificate and Marks Card
Class 12th Certificate (Senior Secondary School) and Marks Card
Undergraduate Marks Cards and Convocation Certificate
Transfer Certificate from last qualified institution
Migration Certificate if the candidate is outside Karnataka state

Admission process: The applicants must fill in complete information on the online application form and upload all required certificates (whatever is available) and photos.
Selection process: The shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview. There are two rounds in the interview. Once the final interview is over, candidates have to pay their programme fee within 7 days and the mode of payment must be online. The dates of the interview will be communicated to the shortlisted candidates and will be announced on the website.
BSc graduates with any Life Science Subject securing at least 50% marks in aggregate of all optional subjects are eligible. BSc graduates in Biotechnology and BSc (Hons) graduates in Biotechnology / Biology / Botany / Microbiology / Zoology are also eligible provided they have secured 50% marks in the aggregate of all the optional subjects.
In the absence of candidates in (a), graduates in Agricultural Science, Dairy Sciences, Horticulture, Forestry, Fisheries, Pharmacy, Engineering (Biotechnology), Medicine / Dental or Agricultural Engineering, with 50% marks in the aggregate are eligible.
Candidates appearing for the final semester undergraduate examinations in April-May 2024 may apply with the marks of all the previous semesters.
General: Candidates who have passed the three-year Bachelor’s Degree examination of Bangalore University or any other University considered equivalent thereto by the Government of Karnataka, with the respective subject as optional/major/special/main subject, are eligible for admission to the programme provided they have secured a minimum of 40% marks in the aggregate of all the subjects (including English and Languages) and 50% marks in the cognate subject or major subject.Note: SC/ ST/ Category I candidates having 5% marks less than that mentioned above are also eligible to apply.
Postgraduate applicants will have to indicate their cognate subject while entering the marks. For example, if a student is applying for MSc Chemistry, then the cognate subject is Chemistry in his/her BSc programme. There are some programmes that do not have a cognate subject such as MSW. In such cases, please indicate one of the best core subjects as a cognate subject.
