Communicative English addresses the technical aspects of language for individuals possessing solid foundational knowledge. The Political Science component examines national and global institutions and diverse political ideologies.
This programme offers a unique blend of subjects that help to enhance and develop a candidate's communication skills. Communicative English is for students who are well-versed in the language. It focuses on the technicality of the English language and aims to help students with the art of effective communication. The curriculum emphasises concepts and skills that enrich the candidates' knowledge, create a highly adaptive environment, and provide opportunities to grow successfully in the respective field. Candidates are guided to research and review useful information and create thought-provoking concepts and ideas. Political Science includes theoretical knowledge about national and global institutions, concepts, and ideals. The course emphasises the basic concepts of political ideologies in the government and administration. The Economics course prepares candidates for the fulfilling world of accounts, retail, sales, finance, and tax in the public, business, or industrial sectors. Candidates are trained to analyse the ups and downs of the financial market, pursue independent research, use complex statistical data, contribute to social issues, and specialise in qualitative and quantitative research methods and inquiries.

A candidate who has passed the two years Pre-University Examination conducted by the Karnataka Pre-University Education Board or equivalent of it from any other State or Central board or any other board certified or approved either by the Government of Karnataka or Government of India shall be eligible for admission to these programs.
General Merit candidates with a minimum of 50% and above marks are eligible for admission.
SC/ST/OBC/Minorities candidates with a minimum of 45% and above marks are eligible for admission..
Students of undergraduate programmes must study two languages, out of which one shall be English and the other shall be either an Indian language or a foreign language other than English.
The University offers the following language courses: Introductory Kannada, Introductory French, Introductory Spanish, Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Sanskrit, French, Additional English and German.
CBSE and ISC students and others who have not studied a second language at the plus two level are encouraged to opt for Introductory Kannada, Introductory French, Introductory Spanish or German. These are taught from the introductory level and require no prior acquaintance. Only those students who have not learnt these languages either in school or class XI or XII are eligible to enroll for these introductory level courses as second language.
Students need PUC/XII level competence to study Sanskrit, Kannada, Tamil, Hindi and French courses.
Additional English is meant for students who have serious problems learning other languages.
All applicants are advised to take note that undergraduate programs in the Schools of Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, and Humanities and Social Sciences, which offer three optional subjects, will implement the 3+3+1 model at our University. This structure requires that students admitted to these programs study all three majors during the first four semesters. In the final two semesters, students will be required to select one of these optional subjects as their primary major. The allocation of the third major will be determined as per the university policy.
